Cormac McCarthy, No Country for Old Men

I just finished reading Cormac McCarthy's new novel, No Country for Old Men. I agree with Steve Shaviro that it's the best he has written since Blood Meridian. The comments on the review are also worth looking at, especially those of Leo Daugherty (who has his own great blog, Journal of the Third Wolf). Steve and Leo are wonderful guides to McCarthy (in fact it's Steve who first turned me on to McCarthy), and I can add nothing, except to reiterate that this is essential reading.
